The backbone of integrated transport.

Buses are the foundation of modern public transport networks. Flexible, scalable and community-focused, they connect neighbourhoods to city centres, link passengers to rail and metro corridors, and provide essential mobility across metropolitan, regional and school networks.

Keolis is one of the world’s largest and most experienced bus and coach operators, delivering services across nine countries with a fleet of more than 23,000 vehicles. This global scale provides deep operational knowledge in safety, fleet management, network optimisation and customer experience.

In Australia, Keolis operates bus, charter and school services across four states — delivering reliable, high-frequency and community-centred transport solutions tailored to local needs.

Accelerating the Energy Transition

As cities move toward lower-carbon transport systems, bus networks are central to the transition. Keolis is at the forefront of sustainable mobility innovation. In Sweden, our entire bus fleet operates on alternative fuels and is 100% fossil-free — demonstrating what is achievable at scale.

In Australia, Keolis is progressing an ambitious transition to zero-emission mobility. With a pipeline of more than 200 electric buses scheduled for deployment in the coming years, we are supporting public transport authorities to accelerate decarbonisation while maintaining operational performance and reliability.

To support this transition, we have established a dedicated Centre of Excellence for Energy Transition, fostering collaboration, international knowledge sharing and continuous improvement in zero-emission fleet deployment, infrastructure integration and workforce capability.

Designing smarter multimodal networks.

Buses play a critical role in integrated transport systems. As the most adaptable mode, they provide feeder services to high-capacity rail and metro corridors while maintaining coverage in areas where fixed infrastructure is not viable.

Keolis Australia and New Zealand specialises in designing and operating multimodal networks that maximise connectivity and efficiency. By aligning timetables, simplifying transfers and optimising service frequency, we strengthen the entire transport ecosystem — not just individual routes.

In Newcastle, the redesign and integration of the broader transport network delivered 23% year-on-year patronage growth, demonstrating the impact of a coordinated, customer-focused approach.
